Trivia about Wakfu

A Kickstarter campaign to fund an English dub of the series launched in January 2014 and was successful.
The series was animated in Adobe Flash, and nearly all production was handled at Ankama's headquarters in Roubaix, although some episodes of the third season were outsourced.
The premiere of the third season on Netflix was scheduled for April 1, but was delayed to avoid overlapping with the Easter weekend and an in-game event.
Common Sense Media critic Emily Ashby gave the series a generally positive review, though she warned parents about content that may not be suitable for young children.
Since January 2025, the episodes have been available on Ankama Animations' official YouTube channel, with English, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles.
The fourth season premiered on February 9, 2024 on Okoo, the platform of France Télévisions, and was also available through Ankama Launcher outside France; the crowdfunding campaign included access for international backers.
Production of the fourth season required more than 1.5 million euros raised through crowdfunding and came after several years of production problems that delayed its release.
In February 2025, Ankama announced a fifth season funded entirely through Kickstarter, after the fourth season revived the series with 13 episodes aired between February and March 2024.
