Dalila Bela

Dalila Bela was born in Montreal in the fall of 2001. By the age of five, she was already in front of a camera filming her first national commercial. Her parents quickly realized this was no passing hobby.

The Canadian industry was quick to take notice.

In 2009, she appeared in the series The Dead Zone, which marked the start of a nonstop run of jobs. She wasn't chasing instant fame, but the sheer number of auditions forced her to move to Vancouver with her family to break into the circuit of major productions.

The Public Television Lab

Her role as Agent Olive in the series Odd Squad raised her profile in 2014. The PBS Kids project required a grueling production pace with scripts packed with math concepts. That performance earned her a nomination at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2016.

That same year, she won the Joey Award for Best Young Actress for her work in the special Odd Squad: The Movie. That formative period in educational television taught her the technical rhythms of the set before she turned fifteen.

But mass recognition came through a streaming platform and a period-piece wig. In 2017, she took on the role of Diana Barry in the adaptation of Anne with an E. Her chemistry with Amybeth McNulty was key to the series' global success.

The Language Barrier and Dubbing

Bela speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese with complete fluency. This ability allowed her to work in the dubbing and voice-over market without the usual limitations faced by child actors. In 2016, she voiced Sydney in the animated series Ready Jet Go! for American television.

And the gamble paid off.

She appeared in the sequels to Diary of a Wimpy Kid between 2011 and 2012, playing Taylor Pringle. On those shoots, she learned that supporting characters carry the comedic weight of major family franchises. It was a lesson in acting humility among young Hollywood stars.

Her bilingual skills opened the door to the American market.

Her family runs a tightly structured professional setup, since her two younger brothers also work in the industry. Raphael Alejandro and Bruce Salomon share credits with her on big-budget productions. As a result, managing their schedules has required precise logistical coordination for years.

In 2021, she joined the cast of Pilgrim's Progress and kept working on independent projects. Her career management avoids big promotional events in favor of steady technical training.
