Glenn Fleshler

Glenn Fleshler is the kind of actor who scares you before he speaks. His face is a map of American cable television over the past few decades. He was born in Queens in 1968 and learned his craft at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York.

In 2014, he played Errol Childress in the first season of True Detective. It was a brief but devastating appearance. That scarred-face man set a standard for HBO villains.

The industry took notice right away.

But his career didn't start in the swamps of the South. Fleshler spent years honing his craft on Broadway stages in works by Shakespeare and Chekhov. Theater is what gives him the solid foundation to hold silences on camera.

The Business of Premium Supporting Roles

Before that, he had already made a strong impression in Boardwalk Empire, bringing George Remus to life. He spoke about himself in the third person and drank bootleg liquor. Fleshler has a physical presence that fills the frame effortlessly.

That capacity for contained menace opened the doors of Billions for him in 2016. For years he played Orrin Bach, the lawyer who cleans up Bobby Axelrod's dirtiest problems. It's a role that demands absolute coolness.

In 2018, he joined the cast of Barry to play Goran Pazar. Here he blended violence with a dry, odd humor that unsettled audiences. From then on, casting directors stopped seeing him as just a tough guy.

The stage never lies.

In 2019, he appeared in Joker alongside Joaquin Phoenix. He played Randall, the coworker who ends up paying the price for his own cruelty. It was a shoot of great psychological intensity on the streets of New Jersey.

Maturity Behind the Mask

Despite his fame on the small screen, he always returns to the stage. In 2022, he starred in the play Nuclear Family, which explored the traumas of an American family saga. It's an environment where he feels comfortable, away from the Hollywood spotlight.

In 2024, he played Dr. Julian Rush in the series The Penguin for the Max streaming platform. His scenes were filmed mainly at the Silvercup Studios during the winter months.

The production contract for that project included a strict confidentiality clause covering his character's arc until the premiere.
