Javon Walton

The Kid Who Didn't Want to Be an Actor

Javon Walton signed his first contract with Under Armour at age eight. He was the youngest athlete in the brand's history, and at the time his only real goal was Olympic boxing. But the casting team for Euphoria spotted him in an Instagram video and decided that this boy with the icy stare had to play Ashtray.

In 2019, his life was split between the gym and film shoots in Los Angeles. He had no prior training at drama schools. His technique consisted of listening and reacting with a naturalness that made viewers uncomfortable.

Playing Ashtray was no gift.

For two seasons he played a child trafficker who barely spoke but held the tension in every scene. In 2022, his character closed his arc on the show with a shootout that took him permanently out of the HBO production. That fictional death allowed him to focus on projects where physicality was the main driving force.

Real Punches on the Big Screen

The film industry often typecasts child prodigies, but Walton used his physique to avoid it. In 2022 he shot Samaritan alongside Sylvester Stallone. The shoot demanded a level of endurance most actors his age couldn't offer. Stallone saw in him a real protégé, not just a co-star.

That same year he entered the world of The Umbrella Academy, playing Stan in the third season. It was a smart move because it took him away from the gritty realism of his early work. But acting has always been a means to fund his real obsession.

Acting has never been his top priority.

His father manages his career with the mindset of a sports team. In 2023, Walton decided acting would take a back seat so he could prepare for his leap to professional boxing. He signed with the promotion Most Valuable Promotions and began training on a regimen fit for an elite athlete.

And the gamble paid off.

In 2024 he went from being an amateur prospect to fighting on major international cards. He has more than ten million social media followers, but he would rather talk about his left hooks. Acting remains a lucrative option he balances with sparring sessions at the family gym.

In March 2024, he took part in a professional fight at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico against Joshua Torres. The bout ended in a majority draw after four rounds in the featherweight division. He weighed 56 kilos on the official scale before stepping into the ring.
