Child 44

In the former Soviet Union, Leo Demidov (Hardy) is a security guard and former war hero who fervently believes in Stalin. But when he investigates a series of child murders, the state removes him from his post and takes him off the case to preserve the illusion of a utopian society free of crime. Demidov must then fight to uncover the truth behind these killings and the real reason the government refuses to acknowledge them. Meanwhile, his wife (Rapace) is the only one who stands by his side, though perhaps she is hiding secrets of her own.
