Taboo

Taboo is set in London in 1814, during the war between the United Kingdom and the United States. Tom Hardy stars as James Delaney, who returns to England after twelve years in Africa. He comes back for his father's funeral and arrives with fourteen stolen diamonds. Meanwhile, the dispute over the Nutca Sound between the two nations is nearing its end, and the lead must navigate a world where political and business power is full of crisscrossing interests. The series was created by Steven Knight with Tom Hardy and their father, Chips Hardy, and airs on BBC One in the United Kingdom and on FX in the United States. It focuses on the darkest side of 19th-century London, with the British East India Company as one of the key pieces of the corruption it portrays.
