Synopsis of Bodies

A body turns up on Longharvest Lane, a street in the London neighborhood of Whitechapel. What's unsettling is that it appears in that same spot in four different years: 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053. Four detectives from the Metropolitan Police, each in their own era, separately launch an investigation into that death. Over time, their inquiries intertwine and have far-reaching consequences. The series, created by Paul Tomalin for Netflix, stars Shira Haas, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Amaka Okafor and Kyle Soller. Each case moves at its own pace, and viewers must piece the puzzle together as the timelines draw closer to one another.

Trivia about Bodies

Most of the scenes were filmed in the Museums Quarter of Kingston upon Hull, taking advantage of the Victorian buildings in the city center.
The Longharvest Lane scenes were shot at Wentworth Woodhouse, near a little-known side entrance, in an area the public normally never sees.
On Rotten Tomatoes, 82% of the 28 reviews collected are positive, with an average rating of 6.8/10.
"Bodies" reached 7.7 million views and hit No. 1 on Netflix's English-language TV chart during the week of October 23, 2023.
The series was conceived as a self-contained eight-episode story, and Paul Tomalin said there were no plans for a second season, although he left the door open in case success justified continuing it.
Filming began on May 16, 2022 and wrapped on October 21 of the same year, with Joel Devlin serving as director of photography.
In addition to Hull, York and Leeds, several scenes were shot at the Little Kelham and Park Hill complexes in Sheffield, which were used to depict futuristic locations.
"Bodies" won two awards and earned six nominations in total, including a BAFTA nomination, according to its IMDb profile.
