Anna Karenina

An adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's famous Russian novel "Anna Karenina," this time starring Keira Knightley as Anna Karenina, with Jude Law as Alexei Karenin and Aaron Johnson as the young Count Vronsky. Director Joe Wright, an expert in literary adaptations after the success of 'Pride & Prejudice' and 'Atonement,' takes on this passionate, adulterous drama in which our heroine, Anna, a refined lady of Russian high society in the late 19th century, falls in love with a young man despite being married, losing her head and exposing herself within the puritanical social order of the era. A story of turbulent desire that was regarded at the time as a merciless critique of the Russian aristocracy, it also became a symbol of women's freedom to choose their own destiny, at a time when they were at the mercy of the whims of the men who were their husbands.
