Synopsis of In Treatment

In Treatment follows psychoanalyst Paul Weston, played by Gabriel Byrne, a man in his fifties who sees his patients in his private office at his home in Baltimore. The series organizes each day of the week around a different session. On Mondays, he sees Laura, a young woman with relationship problems who is facing her own demons during a pre-marital crisis. On Tuesdays, he treats Alex, a Navy pilot who resists therapy because of his profession, his father and his sexual orientation. On Wednesdays, Sophie arrives, a teenager with family problems and self-destructive impulses. Paul, meanwhile, begins to doubt his abilities and his motives, and seeks help from Gina Toll, his former mentor, whom he hasn't seen in ten years.
