In 1998, Adonis "Donnie" Johnson is serving time in a juvenile detention center in Los Angeles. He is the son of an extramarital affair of former world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, and the reform school is, for now, where he lives. One afternoon, the boxer's widow, Mary Anne Creed, comes to visit him with an offer: she wants to take him into her home. The offer opens the door to leaving the center and to a life beyond its walls, though the boy will have to decide whether he accepts such a big change. Ryan Coogler directs the film, and Michael B. Jordan stars as Adonis. Sylvester Stallone completes the cast as Rocky Balboa.

[regarding Apollo Creed] Time beat him. Time, y'know, takes everybody out; it's undefeated.
Your Legacy is More than a Name.
That bell don't mean school's out, Donnie. Keep going. That bell means hell.
One step at a time. One punch at a time. One round at a time.
