Trivia about Going in Style

Warner Bros. Pictures moved the release date from May 6, 2016 to April 7, 2017, a date that had been planned earlier.

The film grossed 85.2 million dollars worldwide against a production budget of 25 million.

Tony Bill, producer of the original 1979 film, served as executive producer of this remake from the development stage.

In November 2014, the main cast was announced with Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, while Dustin Hoffman was in talks to join them.

Over the opening weekend in North America, it was projected to earn about 8 million dollars from 3,061 theaters, and the film ended up grossing 11.9 million.

Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of B+ on a scale from A+ to F.

Zach Braff explained that shooting the supermarket sequence required carrying Morgan Freeman in a basket attached to an electric cart driven by Michael Caine through Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in the middle of summer, with both actors performing nearly the entire scene themselves.

The interior of the fictional bank was filmed in the real Williamsburg Savings Bank building in Brooklyn, which is officially recognized as a historic landmark.
