In August 2001, in Villa Alsina, a small town in the northwest of Buenos Aires province, Fermín Perlassi lives with his wife, Lidia, and his friend Antonio Fontana. The three of them turn over an idea: reopening an agricultural cooperative that went bankrupt years ago and left the town without its main source of work. They estimate the minimum investment to get it running at 300,000 dollars, an amount none of them has. Determined not to sit idly by, they present the project to the neighbors: Rolo Belaúnde, a mechanic; the Gómez brothers, who fix everything on their own; Medina, an out-of-work riverside worker; and Carmen Lorgio, owner of the town's shipping company. Everyone will have to decide whether to join a venture that seems too big for such a small place.
