Trivia about The Eternaut

Stagnaro insisted that Juan Salvo's costume have an old-fashioned feel, and he chose a sheepskin coat that was much heavier and harder to move in during the action scenes.

The art team created five different kinds of snowflakes. Kitchen salt was used for the footprints on the ground, and dried foam soap was used for the falling snow.

Stagnaro initially hesitated to cast Ricardo Darín, then 68 years old, to play a character in his thirties because of the role's physical demands.

Netflix used generative AI to create a shot of a collapsing building. Its co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, confirmed it and justified the move as a way to save time and money.

In June 2023, scenes were shot on General Paz Avenue, the border between Vicente López and the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of Núñez and Saavedra, featuring snow, armed soldiers and vintage cars.

In 1968, advertising production company Gil & Bertolini acquired the rights to an animated series using rotoscoping. The project was canceled after a pilot of 24 minutes was produced.

A second season has been confirmed, but filming has not yet started and there is no official release date; the scripts are still being revised, and filming is expected to begin in 2027.

Production of the first season took nearly 150 days and spanned about three years from preproduction to release, using 38 filming locations.
