Synopsis of The Great Heist

In 1994, a team of thieves plans an ambitious heist to steal millions from the Bank of the Republic of Colombia. Each member of the group has a specific role, and any mistake could derail the operation. The story is inspired by the real-life raid on the bank's headquarters in Valledupar and focuses on planning a heist of this magnitude. Andrés Parra, Christian Tappan, Waldo Urrego, Marcela Benjumea, Juan Pablo Barragán, Édgar Vittorino, Kamila Zea and Paula Castaño lead the cast of this Netflix production, created by C.S. Prince and Pablo González.

Trivia about The Great Heist

Part of the cast, along with Andrés Parra, Juan Sebastián Calero, Christian Tappan and Carlos Mariño, had worked on the filming of Escobar, el patrón del mal in 2012.

Matías Maldonado plays Marco Emilio Zabala, who appears in the series as the bank's manager, the institution the heist is planned against.

"The Heist of the Century" won the India Catalina Award for Best Series or Miniseries in 2021, according to the published list of winners for that edition.
