See how an assassin is born.

Three years after her family died in a plane crash, Stephanie Patrick is living as a prostitute and drug addict in a London brothel. Her life has been reduced to surviving from one day to the next, far from who she once was. Then Keith Proctor, a journalist who claims the crash was not an accident but a terrorist attack covered up by the government, approaches her. The reporter's proposal forces her to confront a past she had spent years trying to leave behind. Reed Morano directs the film, and Blake Lively stars as Stephanie, with Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown in the cast.

Trivia about The Rhythm Section

Filming was halted six months after Blake Lively broke a knuckle on set. The insurance covered the extra costs caused by the delay.

At the end of 2018, Paramount held a test screening in Sherman Oaks that reportedly produced some of the worst results in the studio's history.

Paramount wanted a Bond-style film with a female lead, while EON wanted a slower European noir centered on the celebrity, like La Femme Nikita. The latter won out.

The film grossed $6 million against a budget of $50 million.

In its third weekend, the film dropped from 3,049 theaters to 94, the largest theater count drop for a third weekend in history, ahead of The Darkest Minds.

Blake Lively's training included weapons handling, fight choreography and learning a British accent; in addition, she and Jude Law performed their own stunts in several long takes.

The production was originally scheduled to hit theaters on February 22, 2019, but the date was pushed back ten months and changed again before finally being set for January 2020.

The film was shot with a handheld camera style and close-ups; the car chase was filmed in a single continuous shot from inside the vehicle.
