Synopsis of Dororo

In feudal-era Sengoku Japan, a warlord gives twelve demons the body parts of his newborn son in exchange for prosperity for his territory. The baby is abandoned, but a prosthetics specialist named Doctor Jukai takes him in and builds him a new body from wooden parts. Hyakkimaru, as he is called, wants to recover what was taken from him, and to do so he sets out on a quest shared with Dororo, a boy who joins him along the way. Each demon his father made a pact with presents a different challenge for the protagonist. Based on Osamu Tezuka's manga, the series is distributed on Amazon Prime Video.

Sound director Kisuke Koizumi explained that Dororo uses very little background music, with just 30 pieces composed for its two cours.

Sentai Filmworks licensed an English-language edition in March 2021, and its distribution rights include Spain.
