Shameless

Frank Gallagher, played by David Threlfall, is an alcoholic who lives with his six children on the Chatsworth Estate, a working-class suburb on the outskirts of Manchester. His wife, Monica, has left him for another woman, and he has been left in charge of the house, although he has no steady job and is in no condition to look after anyone. The kids barely get any attention from their father, so they make do on their own with resourcefulness and plenty of humor. Created by Paul Abbott and aired on Channel 4, the series follows this dysfunctional clan as they try to get by in a neighborhood where nothing comes easily. There is tenderness amid the chaos, along with a very British sense of humor that turns everyday misery into comedy.
