A Haven for Science Fiction

Eve Harlow was born in Moscow in 1989, but she spent her childhood between Israel and Canada. That geographic mobility shaped her ability to blend into productions of very different genres. In 2007, she landed a tiny role in Juno, though she was on screen for only a few seconds.

It was her first real contact with the Hollywood industry.

She honed her craft in Canadian television for years. Her work on the series The Guard earned her a Leo Award in 2009. That performance as Tina Renwald put her name on the radar of casting directors in Vancouver. That early award kept her career from stalling in extra roles.

Her move to American television came when she joined the cast of The 100 in 2014. She played Maya Vie during the second season of the post-apocalyptic drama. Her character's storyline ended abruptly and violently. But that role gave her an international visibility she hadn't had until then.

Her later roles included appearances in Heroes Reborn and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., where she played Tess in 2017. She most often plays women who survive hostile or dystopian environments. Her gaze often conveys a mix of suspicion and trauma that fits science fiction and fantasy well.

And the truth is, it works.

The Streaming Boom

In 2023, her career took a turn thanks to Netflix. She played Ellen in The Night Agent, an unpredictable assassin who broke away from her earlier, more vulnerable roles. The series racked up more than 800 million viewing hours in its first months on air.

During filming of that production in 2022, she underwent intensive training in combat choreography. The script demanded a physicality she had not explored in projects such as Titans or The Rookie. The physical transformation was evident in the real action sequences.

In 2024, she joined the fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery to bring Moll to life. She is a fugitive with a story arc that spans the entire galaxy. The contract for this production was signed under strict confidentiality clauses to protect the final plot twists.

Not everything has been a mass-audience hit.

She took part in independent projects such as The Tomorrow Man in 2019 that went largely unnoticed by the general public. In that film, she shared the billing with John Lithgow and Blythe Danner. The movie's budget barely reached four million dollars, and its commercial theatrical release was limited.

The actress has lived in Los Angeles for more than a decade. Her agent handles her auditions through Paradigm Talent Agency.
