After the outbreak of the TSJ virus, the Canary Islands have become the last refuge left in Europe. An expedition sets out for Madrid to find supplies, and Roberto decides to join the group. His reasons for joining the team aren't entirely clear, and the other members of the expedition start to eye him with suspicion. The road is crawling with infected, and each member of the group seems to have divided loyalties. From the start, the journey is presented as a test of how far each person will go to survive.

Trivia about Apocalypse Z: New World

The movie was filmed on location in Gran Canaria, Barcelona, and Lleida, although the story mainly takes place in the Canary Islands.

Carles Torrens chose to drop the character of Manel, the lead of the first movie, and made Roberto, played by Carlos Alcaide, the new focus of the story.

The production had its world premiere at the 2026 Sitges Film Festival, held October 8 to 18, before arriving on Prime Video.

Prime Video promoted it as the sequel to its most-watched original international movie at the time, although the sources consulted do not provide a specific viewership figure.

The movie expands on Manel Loureiro's trilogy with a storyline that features a military mission from the Canary Islands to the mainland to recover supplies.
