Synopsis of Rapa

Amparo Seoane, mayor of Cedeira (A Coruña) and the most powerful woman in the area, is murdered. Maite, a sergeant in the Guardia Civil, wants to find the culprit because she considers it a duty of her job. Tomás, a literature teacher, is the only witness to the crime. Cynical and a fan of detective novels, he sees the investigation as a chance to live a story like the ones he reads. Maite and Tomás, as different as they are unlikely allies, are forced to join forces in a Galician village. Created by Pepe Coira and Fran Araújo, the series airs on Movistar Plus+ and stars Javier Cámara and Mónica López.

Trivia about Rapa

Movistar Plus+ announced on July 14, 2021 that Javier Cámara would star in Rapa, presented as the new series from the creators of Hierro.

Filming of the first season was scheduled for September 2021, but did not begin until early October, in Cedeira and Ferrol.

The third season was filmed from August 2023 to November 22, and Javier Cámara will direct one of its six episodes.

In 2022, Rapa received two Mestre Mateo Awards, one for Best Lead Actress and another for Best Supporting Actress.

After its first month, Rapa reported that 75% of the viewers who watched the first episode finished the season, and Movistar Plus+ called it its best premiere since the second season of Hierro.
