CODA

Ruby is the only hearing member of a deaf family. At 17 years old, she works every morning with her parents and brother in Gloucester, Massachusetts, before heading to class, trying to keep the family's fishing business afloat. Eager to find new hobbies, Ruby decides to try her luck in her high school choir, where she not only discovers a hidden passion for singing, but also a strong physical attraction to the person she sings duets with. Her enthusiastic teacher sees something special in her and encourages her to consider applying to music school, which would force her to make a decision about her future: her studies or her family.
