Switched at Birth

Bay Kennish is an art-loving teenager who lives in Mission Hills, an upscale neighborhood in Kansas, with her parents, Kathryn and John, and her brother, Toby. Her life takes a turn when a school lab assignment reveals that her blood type doesn't match her parents'. Genetic tests confirm the mix-up: at the hospital, Bay was switched at birth with Daphne Vasquez, a girl who lost her hearing as a child and is being raised by her single mother, Regina, in East Riverside, a working-class neighborhood in Missouri. Both girls must come to terms with the news as the two families, who come from very different worlds, get to know each other and look for ways to live together.
