Rob Gordon runs a record store in Chicago, Championship Vinyl, which specializes mainly in vinyl. He spends most of his day with his two employees, Dick and Barry, two guys as quirky as he is. The three of them know popular music inside out and love concerts and top-five lists in every category. However, Rob is going through a rough patch. Laura, his girlfriend of two years, suddenly dumps him. Heartbroken, he starts reviewing his past heartbreaks, which he calls his top five: the women who left a mark on his life. The movie is directed by Stephen Frears and stars John Cusack. For Rob, music remains a passion almost as great as the relationships he keeps remembering.
