Trivia about High School Musical 2

The soundtrack was certified double platinum in its first week, and during that same period it debuted at number one in the United States.

In Argentina, the premiere beat the debut of High School Musical the previous year by 107 percent, while in Brazil the sequel reached 208 percent.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 83% approval rating based on 23 critic reviews.

The film won the "So Hot Right Now" award at the 2007 Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards, where Zac Efron hosted the show alongside The Veronicas.

The film drew more than 17 million viewers in its original U.S. broadcast, over ten million more than its predecessor, and set the viewing record for an original Disney Channel production.

The high school scenes were shot in four days at East High, while classes were still in session during one of those days; students were asked to stay away so as not to interfere with the shoot.

The shoot used Utah as its main location and The Inn at Entrada in St. George for the country club scenes. The cast and crew stayed in the resort's villas.

Kenny Ortega won the ALMA Award for Outstanding Directing for a Television Movie, and the film won the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Movie at the 2007 Teen Choice Awards.

Quotes by High School Musical 2

My life is over. I've been a good girl, I've never lied, except when necessary. I've always bought my parents expensive gifts... using their credit cards, of course, but I don't deserve this humiliation!
You're a good guy, Troy. And actually, right now, I think I like you better than I like myself. Did I just say that?
I need a little fabulous, is that so wrong?! singing
Everything has to be perfect for me!
I will hurt you or hire someone to hurt you.
