A group of fish swims calmly in the aquarium of an elegant restaurant. Their routines are simple: greeting each other, chatting and watching the diners through the glass. But a scene taking place on the other side of the glass shakes them up and leaves them uneasy. From that moment on, the group begins to wonder about something that had never worried them before: the meaning of life. The film, directed by Terry Jones, is written and performed by the six members of Monty Python, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. What follows is a series of sketches with constant shifts in tone, without a continuous story to tie them together.
