A Simple Favor

Stephanie Smothers is a widowed mother living in Warfield, Connecticut, a small town where she raises her son Miles on her own. She runs a crafts and recipe blog aimed at moms and spends much of her day in front of the camera in her kitchen. One day she meets Emily Nelson, a public relations director at a fashion company and the mother of Nicky, Miles's best friend at school. The two women couldn't be more different. Soon they start meeting in the mid-afternoon for martinis, and Stephanie discovers in Emily an elegant, reserved woman, far removed from her daily routine. Directed by Paul Feig, the movie kicks off with this unexpected friendship, starring Anna Kendrick as Stephanie and Blake Lively as Emily.
