Trivia about Blackadder

Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson began developing The Black Adder while working together on the show Not the Nine O'Clock News.
Location filming took place mainly at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland and its surroundings during February 1983.
Atkinson recalled that the first season was very extravagant, costing one million pounds for the six episodes.
The high cost of the first season led Michael Grade, then head of BBC1 programming, to resist approving a second one without major improvements and cuts.
Empire ranks it as the 20th greatest TV show of all time.
Internationally, the series won an International Emmy Award in the Arts Programming category in 1983.
Politician Vincent Hanna played a character billed as "his own great-great-grandfather" in the episode "Dish and Dishonesty" from the third season.
The special "Blackadder Back & Forth" was filmed in Shepperton over a two-month period in early spring 1999, on a particularly tight production schedule.
