She's ready. She's engaged. She's back.

The film begins one month after Mulan defeats the Huns. Mushu happily returns to his position as a guardian spirit, although the Fa family ancestors are not pleased and wish to see him dismissed. Mulan, the brave heroine, receives a marriage proposal from General Shang and joyfully accepts. Mushu is initially happy about the engagement, until the ancestors remind him that if Mulan marries, he will lose his post as guardian. Darrell Rooney and Lynne Southerland direct this animated musical sequel, produced by Disneytoon Studios.

Trivia about Mulan II

Eddie Murphy, Miriam Margolyes and Chris Sanders did not reprise their roles from the first film. Mark Moseley, April Winchell and Frank Welker took over those roles, respectively.
The writers of the first film, Raymond Singer and Eugenia Bostwick-Singer, pitched Disney two story ideas for Mulan III featuring a new character named Ana Ming.
The trailer was released on January 27, 2004 alongside the two-disc special edition of Alice in Wonderland, according to available promotional information.
"Mulan II" was produced by DisneyToon Studios and went straight to home video in the United States on December 28, 2004, with no commercial theatrical release there.
