Room

Jack is five years old, and for him the whole world fits inside a single room. He was born there, eats there, plays there and learns there with his mother, whom everyone calls Ma. Every night before bed, Ma puts him in the wardrobe in case Old Nick, the man who keeps them locked in this backyard shed, shows up. The room has no windows, only a skylight in the ceiling, and Ma has devised routines so her son can endure the confinement normally. But Jack starts to wonder what lies beyond those walls, and Ma knows that the space can't contain for much longer both the boy's curiosity and her own desperation. Directed by Lenny Abrahamson, the film follows Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay in this prison turned home.
