The Good Boss

Directed by Fernando León de Aranoa, the film follows Julio Blanco, the head of a family-run company that manufactures industrial scales in a provincial Spanish town. Javier Bardem plays the lead. In a few days, a committee will arrive at the factory to decide whether Blanco deserves a local award for business excellence, and he wants everything to be perfect for the visit. But problems keep piling up and the clock is ticking. Julio has little time to fix what isn't working, both in production and in the day-to-day life of the workforce, and every setback threatens to ruin his plans. The visit is getting closer, and with it the sense that the company's future depends on a single day.
