In 1905, young British officer Percy Fawcett takes part in a deer hunt on a stately Irish estate, organized to entertain Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who is visiting the country. Fawcett is a skilled horseman and a sharp shot, and he brings the animal down quickly. However, at the party after the hunt, his hosts turn their backs on him and barely notice him. Fawcett wants his name to carry more weight in the British army and in circles of power, and his proud nature drives him to seek a venture that will set him apart from men of his class. Directed by James Gray, the film portrays a man who needs to prove his worth and does not yet know where that need will lead him. Charlie Hunnam plays the protagonist.
