Synopsis of ¿A qué estás esperando?

Can and Daryl are two airline pilots and close friends who each discover love in their own way. Can, of Turkish origin, respects the wishes of his traditional father and attends monthly dinners where potential candidates for marriage are introduced to him. At one of them, he meets Sonia, a single mother who shows up unannounced at the dinner his mother has arranged for his two other sisters to meet a wealthy heir. What starts as an arranged date gets tangled up in Can's family expectations and Sonia's life. The series is an erotic romantic comedy created by Natalia Durán and broadcast on Atresplayer, starring Rubén Cortada, Adriana Torrebejano, Francisco Ortiz and Eva Ugarte.

In June 2023, Atresplayer announced it was developing a series based on two novels by Megan Maxwell, ¿A qué estás esperando? and Tampoco pido tanto.
In March 2024, Atresmedia announced that filming had begun in the Canary Islands, with plans to later extend to Madrid.
Filming for season two began in early March 2026.
Atresmedia announced in February 2024 that the series would also air on traditional television on Antena 3, following its launch on Atresplayer.
Rubén Cortada was announced as the male lead, playing Can, in January 2024.
Season two welcomes Nico Furtado, Marta Guerras and Helena Ezquerro, while Adriana Torrebejano, Rubén Cortada, Eva Ugarte and Francisco Ortiz keep their roles, alongside much of the original cast.
The series was renewed for a second season before its broadcast in prime time on Antena 3, after ranking among Atresplayer's original productions with the best streaming performance.
