Abigail Klein spent three seasons cheering on the sidelines at Dallas Cowboys games before someone in Los Angeles noticed her profile. Between 2007 and 2010, her life revolved around precision choreography and the intense spotlight of the NFL. But her real goal was acting.
She moved to California with the label of dancer in tow.
In 2011, she landed her first television credits with brief appearances on shows like The Young and the Restless. It wasn't an easy path, since in Hollywood the cheerleader stereotype weighs heavily on casting offices. So she took small parts in comedies such as That's My Boy in 2012 to pay the bills while she looked for a chance to take on meatier dramatic work.
Michael Bay cast her in a supporting role in Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014. It was her first experience with a 210 million dollar budget and a filming logistics operation that had nothing in common with television sets. And although her presence was brief, it taught her how the machinery of the major studios worked from the inside.
Hollywood doesn't hand out anything for free.
She later had guest appearances on Code Black and Castle. In 2017, she starred in Butterfly Caught, playing an actress trying to survive the pressures of fame in Los Angeles. The role was meaningful because it reflected some of her own experiences in a city that chews up aspiring actors every week.
In 2016, she married Christopher J.S. Smith in a private ceremony that barely made the press. The couple has kept their personal life out of the tabloid spotlight ever since.
Her career took a turn in 2022 when she joined the cast of Days of Our Lives. Playing Stephanie Johnson meant becoming part of one of the longest-running dramas in American television history. The filming pace on these productions is relentless, requiring actors to memorize up to thirty script pages a day with almost no margin for error.
And the gamble paid off.
In 2023, she held her ground on the show, appearing in more than one hundred episodes. Daytime TV is often a comfortable haven, but Klein has sought out other formats to avoid being typecast. Her formal dance training remains a tool she uses in physical stunts that other actors would hand off to stunt doubles.
In late 2023, she joined The Winchesters as Annabelle. Filming took place in Louisiana under standard television production protocols, and her contract was handled through the representation agency Buchwald.
