Synopsis of Code Black
Code Black is set at the fictional Angels Memorial hospital in Los Angeles, California. Its emergency room treats more patients than its staff and resources can handle. Four first-year residents work there alongside their instructors, including Dr. Leanne Rorish, the director of the residency program, played by Marcia Gay Harden, and head nurse Jesse Salander, in charge of Luis Guzmán. Residents and mentors try to treat every patient who comes in, although the lack of resources forces them to make difficult decisions under constant pressure. The series is inspired by a documentary by Ryan McGarry filmed at a real hospital in Los Angeles. It airs on CBS and is created by Michael Seitzman.
