Christine Evangelista

The Shelter Among the Walking Dead

Christine Evangelista spent her teenage years surrounded by scripts at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York. She wasn't chasing quick fame on social media, since her training was that of a classical stage actress who sees the craft as a physical discipline.

She made her television debut with supporting roles in series such as Law & Order and Conviction. The characters appeared in just one shooting session. Still, they helped East Coast casting directors start noting her name in the schedules for mid-budget projects.

In 2015, she landed the role of Sherry in The Walking Dead. She stepped into a dense, violent storyline where her character served as a moral counterpoint to Negan's tyranny.

And the gamble paid off.

Evangelista left the main series only to return years later in the spin-off Fear the Walking Dead in 2020. It wasn't a improvised move by the writers. The actress negotiated her return to close a story arc that ran until the series finale in 2023.

Nearly a decade playing the same woman in an apocalyptic world allowed her to buy a home and choose her next moves with a calm that is rare in Hollywood.

Love Contracts and Other Fictions

Between zombies and escapes, she filmed The Arrangement in 2017. The series explored marriage contracts in the film industry, and many critics saw parallels with the internal structure of Scientology.

She played Megan Morrison for two full seasons. The trade press noticed her ability to hold three-minute close-ups without blinking. But E! canceled the project in 2018 due to a drop in young audience ratings in the U.S. market.

It was a hard blow.

Even so, she appeared in films such as The Intern in 2015 alongside Robert De Niro. It was a small role where she had barely a handful of lines in a design office. At that point, Evangelista took every opportunity to watch how veteran union actors worked on set.

In 2024, she focused on pre-production for independent projects outside the major studios in Los Angeles. Her per-episode pay on AMC productions gave her the freedom to turn down generic streaming scripts. The actress wrapped her final scenes in Texas at a temperature of 40 degrees with a production crew cut to the bare minimum.
