Jenna Davis didn't need to show her face to terrify half the planet in 2022. She gave voice to an artificial intelligence doll in the film M3GAN, and the result was a viral phenomenon that producer Blumhouse didn't expect. That vocal performance blended childlike sweetness with a mechanical coldness that instantly became part of popular culture.
But her path to that recording mic began much earlier, in Plano, Texas. At just six years old she was already winning local talent contests, and by nine she had decided her home state was too small for her.
In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles with her family to try to break into the Disney and Nickelodeon machine.
It was not a quick process, because the competition in California is fierce. She started with tiny roles in series like Teachers in 2016 or lending secondary voices to animated projects. But Davis had a clear competitive edge. She could sing and knew how to project a hyper energy that perfectly matched what casting directors were looking for in teen roles.
The contract that changed her bank account came with Raven's Home in 2018. She played Sienna for several seasons and won over the young audience. It was around this time that she began building her social media presence, especially on YouTube and TikTok, where she gained millions of followers by posting song covers and viral challenges.
And the bet on digital content paid off.
Her ability to connect with Gen Z caught the attention of the producers of M3GAN. They were looking for someone who could sound innocent and deadly at the same time. Davis recorded her lines without being physically on set, since the character's movement relied on a physical actress and animatronics. The box office success exceeded $ 180 million on a budget of just 12 million.
That figure put her in an unprecedented position of power for an actress her age.
In 2024 she appeared in the film Lisa Frankenstein directed by Zelda Williams. The project confirmed that Davis is comfortable on the fringes of genre cinema that blends dark comedy with the macabre. She isn't looking to be the pretty face of traditional romantic comedy. She prefers characters with a hidden depth or a slightly unsettling edge.
Voice work for dubbing remains her biggest financial asset. She has lent her voice to characters in Treehouse Detectives and Vampirina, building a résumé that lets her balance on-camera work with voice acting in the studio.
Blumhouse has already set the release date for M3GAN 2.0 for June 2025. Davis signed a contract that guarantees her return as the lead voice of the franchise. Production on the sequel was planned with a budget that doubles that of the original film, following the financial impact of the first installment. The actress earns a six-figure salary for this type of high-profile voice work.
