Wilfred James, known to his friends as Wilf, checks into a hotel in Omaha, Nebraska, with the intention of finally writing down what happened on the family farm. His account takes him back to 1922, when he lived in Hemingford Home with his wife, Arlette, and their teenage son, Henry. Arlette has inherited land from her father and wants the family to sell the cattle business and move to Omaha. Wilf opposes the idea, and she plans to file for divorce and take the boy with her. The film is directed by Zak Hilditch and stars Thomas Jane, who plays the farmer at the center of this story of family conflict.
