Maybe for you, there's a tomorrow.

Samantha Kingston, or Sam to her friends, is one of the most popular girls at her high school. She wakes up on February 12, Valentine's Day, and her friends Lindsay, Allison, and Elody pick her up by car, excited about what the day promises. Sam has a plan for that night: to lose her virginity to her boyfriend, Rob. The four of them want to see how much clout they have at school, so they head to a party thrown by Kent, a classmate who has feelings for Sam. The heroine, who is used to depending on the approval of others, starts to realize that her day is not going to turn out as she had planned.

Trivia about Before I Fall

The film grossed $18 million worldwide against a budget of $5 million.

In 2011, Maria Maggenti's screenplay appeared on the Black List of the best unproduced screenplays.

Kian Lawley was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards and ended up winning the award.

Jennifer Beals joined the cast on November 3, 2015 to play Samantha's mother.

Filming lasted 24 days and was shot with an Alexa camera and anamorphic lenses, according to Ry Russo-Young, who discussed the production process.

To cast the role of Samantha, Russo-Young auditioned many young actresses and decided that Zoey Deutch's audition conveyed the emotional conflict she was looking for in the character.

The production moved the novel's setting to Vancouver because Russo-Young felt its rocks, cliffs, forests, fog, and rain visually reinforced the tone of the story.

Filming began on November 16, 2015 in Squamish, British Columbia, and wrapped on December 19 of the same year. Locations in Vancouver were also used.
