Planet of the Apes

George Taylor is part of an astronaut crew aboard a spacecraft on a long-duration mission that crash-lands on an unknown planet that seems to have no intelligent life. However, he soon discovers that the planet is ruled by a race of intelligent apes who enslave humans, who lack the power of speech. When their leader, Dr. Zaius, horrified, discovers Taylor's ability to speak, he decides the best course is to exterminate him.
