You Will Be One of Us

Humans have been displaced by an alien parasite race called "Souls." These creatures travel from planet to planet, take over the body of the dominant species, and switch off their host's consciousness. On Earth, the conquest is nearly complete. Melanie Stryder, a young woman played by Saoirse Ronan, is captured by the invaders. Soon after, one of these Souls, named Wanderer, takes over her body, but Melanie refuses to surrender and resists losing control of herself. The two share one body and begin to fight over it. The film, written and directed by Andrew Niccol, also stars Jake Abel, Max Irons, and William Hurt, among others.
