Synopsis of Pantheon

Maddie Kim is a teenager who is bullied at school and is still grieving her father, who died two years ago. One day she starts receiving anonymous help online from someone who gradually claims to be David Kim. That stranger is her father's consciousness, uploaded to the cloud after undergoing an experimental and destructive brain scan that his family knew nothing about. The story unfolds in a world on the edge of the technological singularity, where the companies Logorhythms and Alliance Telecom compete to develop mind uploading and resort to illegal and unethical methods. Created by Craig Silverstein for AMC+, the series explores what it means to be human when a mind can be copied.

AMC ordered two seasons of eight episodes each from the production, an order that came in on March 10, 2020.
AMC canceled the series on January 8, 2023 after just one season, even though it had ordered two.
