Costa, a skeptical film producer, and Sebastián, a young and idealistic director, work together on an ambitious project: a film about the Spanish arrival in the Americas. With a limited budget, Costa decides to shoot it in Bolivia, the poorest country in South America, and the crew sets up in Cochabamba with the cast. The film will focus on the brutality of the conquest and on the courage of some priests who confronted it with words. Neither of them imagines that a challenge awaits them there that will test their convictions. That challenge comes with the Water War, which begins to erupt in the region while the shoot moves forward.
