Zaire, 1967. Billy Ford discovers a virus in the country called Motaba, similar to Ebola, with a 100% mortality rate that kills in less than a day. The disease spreads through a village, and the U.S. government makes a drastic decision: bomb the infected area to wipe out the only known outbreak. Authorities want to contain the threat without the matter getting out, but the virus's death doesn't guarantee that the danger is over. Sam Daniels, the character played by Dustin Hoffman, is the lead in a story directed by Wolfgang Petersen, in which soldiers and civilians face a contagious disease that could spiral out of control.
