The Girl with All the Gifts

After a fungal infection has wiped out most of humanity, Melanie lives on a military base set up in a remote village in England. She is one of the infected children who, despite everything, still retain the ability to think and feel. Scientists observe and study her as they search for a cure, while Professor Helen Justineau teaches the young children. The base monitors every move the children make, and the daily routine of the compound seems to revolve around this research. The soldiers guarding the site follow orders, and tension settles into the hallways. Melanie grows up in a collapsed world, where the future of the species depends on what the adults manage to discover about her.
