Synopsis of Babylon Berlin
In 1929, in the final years of the Weimar Republic, Inspector Gereon Rath arrives in Berlin from Cologne to join the police vice squad. His undercover mission is to dismantle a film pornography ring, a case that forces him to navigate the political movements of the era and the nightlife of the cabarets. To help him, he has Charlotte Ritter, a typist who works occasionally for the police and dreams of becoming an inspector. Charlotte is trying to escape the poverty of her working-class neighborhood and, at night, frequents the Moka Efti, a crowded club where music, dancing and sex fill the air. Created by Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries and Hendrik Handloegten, the series aired on Sky 1 and stars Volker Bruch and Liv Lisa Fries.
