Synopsis of Corazón salvaje

Corazón salvaje is a Mexican telenovela produced by José Rendón for Las Estrellas, also created by Caridad Bravo Adams and Alberto Cortés. Edith González and Eduardo Palomo lead the cast. The story is set in Veracruz at the start of the 20th century, on the Campo Real hacienda, a sugarcane producer. Its owner, Francisco Alcázar, has two sons: Andrés, his legitimate son with Sofía Montiel, and Juan del Diablo, born of an extramarital relationship with the wife of a poor fisherman. Francisco wants to acknowledge Juan and give him a decent home, but Sofía firmly opposes this and despises him. Caught between a wife's pride and a divided father's desire, the family conflict begins.

Trivia about Corazón salvaje

Erika Buenfil still regrets not accepting the role of Aimée, which the producer had originally offered to her.
César Évora was the first choice for the role of Juan del Diablo, but Televisa executives were not sure he had the strength needed for the lead role.
Eduardo Palomo had to dye his hair from light brown to black, grow it to shoulder length and tan to resemble the character, and he kept that look for years after the telenovela.
Eduardo Palomo's success in Italy reportedly led designer Gianni Versace to invite him to model in one of his runway shows.
Actress Salma Hayek went through casting calls and costume fittings to play Mónica in the telenovela.
Ricardo Arjona was also considered for the lead role but was ultimately passed over, although they had already appeared in Alcanzar una estrella in 1990.
The production was nominated for ten TVyNovelas Awards and won four in the year it premiered, according to the profile published by Las Estrellas.
Several historic locations in Puerto Vallarta, Nayarit and Cuernavaca were used to recreate San Pedro, while much of the filming took place at Hacienda de Vistahermosa.
