Synopsis of Keeping Up with the Kardashians

Keeping Up with the Kardashians follows the everyday life of a family brought together after several marriages. Kris Jenner lives with her children from her first marriage, Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian, and with her daughters Kendall and Kylie, born from her second. The cameras step into their home to show how they juggle work commitments, celebrations, and domestic disputes. The series, created by Ryan Seacrest and aired on the E! network, raises a simple question: how does a clan so exposed to the public keep its unity? The sisters work to grow their businesses and image, while the family tries to keep the peace amid everyday friction and media attention.

Trivia about Keeping Up with the Kardashians

The idea came about in 2006, when Kris Jenner expressed interest in appearing on a TV show with her family.

Ryan Seacrest hired a cameraman to film the family at a Sunday barbecue at home, and then shared the tape with E!.

The series was renewed for a second season one month after its premiere due to its strong ratings.

The two-part special about Kim's wedding to Kris Humphries, aired in 2011, drew 10.5 million viewers.

In August 2017, the family signed a 150-million-dollar contract with E!.

Several publications embraced the show as a "guilty pleasure," including The Huffington Post, The Atlantic, and The Week.

The series won four Teen Choice Awards in the reality TV star category in 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2016, after receiving nominations for nine consecutive years.

The first spin-off, originally titled "Kourtney and Khloé in Miami," premiered in 2009 with 2.7 million viewers and became E!'s most-watched broadcast since "The Anna Nicole Show" in 2002.
