Synopsis of Squid Game
In South Korea, Seong Gi-hun is a divorced gambling addict who lives with his elderly mother and is in debt. A mysterious invitation offers him the chance to win a large sum of money by playing children's games. He accepts and is taken to an isolated location, where he shares space with hundreds of other people in desperate financial situations. Everyone wears green tracksuits and is watched at all times by masked guards in pink jumpsuits. The games are overseen by a figure known as The Front Man. Created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix, and starring Lee Jung-jae, the series presents a competition in which each participant risks their life to escape financial ruin.
