Synopsis of Terra Nova
In 2149, humanity faces extinction. Overpopulation and pollution have made the planet nearly uninhabitable. Scientists discover a temporal rift that connects to a parallel timeline, a prehistoric Cretaceous world, and organize pilgrimages there to found a colony called Terra Nova. The Shannon family is part of one of them. Elisabeth, a trauma surgeon, travels with her two eldest children because her medical experience is needed. Her husband, Jim, a police officer imprisoned for hiding a third child, sneaks onto the expedition, determined to reunite with them. The series, which airs on Fox, was created by Kelly Marcel and Craig Silverstein and stars Jason O'Mara and Shelley Conn. The Shannons must adapt to a life where survival depends on the colony and its commander, Nathaniel Taylor.
