Kristen Parker is a teenager who suffers from recurring nightmares. In them, she returns to a sinister house where Freddy Krueger, a burned man with blades on his fingers, stalks her. One night she wakes up with a cut on her wrist, and her mother, Elaine, is convinced the girl tried to take her own life. She checks her into Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, where she is placed under the care of Dr. Neil Gordon. Kristen insists the culprit is the monster from her dreams, but no one seems willing to believe her. As the doctors search for an explanation, she clings to her version of events and is afraid to fall asleep again. Patricia Arquette plays the lead in this third installment, directed by Chuck Russell.
